Greta Sorensen
graduated from the textile department in the Art and Crafts school of Iceland in 1983 and with an MFA in textile design from Konstfack in Sweden on 1993, with a focus on knitting. She has worked with creations by hand as well as with a machine, and teaching.
Greta Sorensen has previously published The Knitting Bible, which was shortlisted for The Icelandic Women‘s Literature Prize and has since its publication become increasingly popular. Greta was only a child when she acquired her first lopi sweater knitted by her mother. Since then Greta has knitted lopi sweaters for her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. Greta Sorensen is a professional textile designer, and a teacher of weaving and textiles. Her professional career has mainly been focused on teaching visual arts, handcraft and design.
