(b.1962) was nominated for the Icelandic Literary Prize for her first novel, City, and has since then received well-deserved attention for her stories. Her novel The Perfect Landscape was nominated for the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and her short story collection Winter Roots received unanimous praise from critics in 2019.
Ragna’s artistic background is reflected in her unique visual style. She studied Visual Art at the Icelandic School of Arts and Craft, and obtained an advanced degree at the Jan Van Eyck Academie in the Netherlands. She has been an active art critic for Icelandic newspapers and magazines for many years. She has also translated a number of novels from Dutch.
