“The haiku form is simple and suits simple thoughts. Among other things, it is an art form to work at the edge of platitude but imbue the lines with some meaning. Then the poems take on a particular  glow. In this way, writing a haiku brings with it a certain sense of calm. It becomes a kind of meditation,” says Gudmundur Andri about his first book of poetry.
