Adolf Smari (b.1993) is an opera and theatre director, novelist and playwright. After studying at the Iceland University of the Arts, he graduated as a director in 2022 from the prestigious theatre academy DAMU in Prague. His directorial debut, Nothing is more tragic than a human being, was nominated for seven Gríma awards. He has previously published the novel About the philosophy of ABBA (or, my life as Olof Palme). His works have been performed in Iceland (The National Theatre of Iceland), Czech Republic (Divadlo DISK) and Poland (Gdański Teatr Szekspirowski).
