BRYNJA HJALMSDOTTIR (b. 1992) is a poet and author from Reykjavik. Her poetry, composed of surrealist imagery and rhythmic language, addresses diverse subjects and often draws from the absurd and grotesque. She has received multiple awards and nominations for her work, and has been described as by critics as “One of Iceland’s finest young writers”. Her poetry has been published in six languages and one of her poetry collections came out in the USA in 2024. The Perished Land is her first novel.
