Nina Olafsdottir
Nina Olafsdottir (b. 1986) is an Icelandic author and marine ecologist. She holds a degree in biology and has conducted research in marine ecology, including fieldwork in Svalbard. Her debut novel, The Last to Walk the Earth, was awarded a New Voices Grant from the Icelandic Literature Center and marks the arrival of a fresh literary voice with a distinct sense of place and atmosphere. Nina draws inspiration from the natural world, the Arctic North, and the quiet drama of everyday life. Her writing is grounded in science, yet infused with emotional depth and lyricism.
