Sigurbjorg Thrastardottir

(b.1973) has published books of poetry, several plays, and novels. In addition, she has actively written for radio, newspapers, and magazines, and collaborated with visual artists and composers. A fine example of this is the work IS(not), a collaborative project with Polish illustrators and a band of women writers, Metropoetica, that researched European cities for many years. Thrastardottir’s narrative poem, Candlelight Vigils was nominated for the 2009 Nordic Council’s Literature Prize and has been published in German and Swedish.
