(b. 1955) is a well-known public figure in Iceland for his dynamic career. He was a long time media personality, journalist and editor to become elected politician. He progressed to an impressive list of posts overseas in development co-operation and diplomacy in Africa and is currently a Special Envoy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Iceland after serving as ambassador to the United Nations Agencies in Rome.
