Thora Sveinsdottir

(b. 1967) is an Icelandic author, systems analyst, and entrepreneur. In midlife, Thora turned to writing and fulfilled a lifelong ambition to become an author. She has always possessed a vivid imagination and a deep fascination with psychology, personality, and the hidden forces that shape human decisions.

In 2016, at the age of fifty, Thora was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Refusing to let the diagnosis define her, she has remained productive—writing novels, completing postgraduate studies, traveling extensively, and co-founding a new technology company with her husband. She speaks openly about living with Parkinson’s and emphasizes resilience, agency, and the refusal to give up as guiding principles in both life and writing.
