Tómas Ævar Ólafsson (b. 1989) is a poet and author who lives in Reykjavík. He holds degrees in philosophy and creative writing and has worked primarily as a radio producer for Channel 1, Iceland’s national public broadcaster. He published his debut poetry collection in 2021. Cleft is his first novel. Both works explore the human condition within a world shaped by capitalism and unrestrained technological progress, where an overabundance of meaning has created a world devoid of it.
