Vigdis Grimsdottir (b. 1953) has received widespread recognition for her work and her books have been translated into several languages. Vigdis has won many prices for her writing, including among other things, the Icelandic Literary Prize. One of her novels, Cold Light, has been made into a major motion picture and her works have been adapted for the stage.
