Everything you think you know about the elves of Iceland is wrong.
Lineik, a high school student, is excited to make a podcast for her media studies elective, until she finds out the topic has to be elves. To make matters worse, she’s forced to work in a group with Perla, the class weirdo, and Jonki, the biggest slacker around. But the project turns out to be full of surprises. Before long, the trio uncovers a mysterious village in South Iceland connected to elven lore and with a history of strange accidents. When they arrive on site, they quickly realize the villagers have plenty of dark secrets to hide… and asking the wrong questions can be deadly.
We Feed the Stones is a bloody contemporary twist on classical Icelandic folklore from master fantasist Gunnar Theodor.
“A thrilling tale of terror! We Feed the Stones puts a fresh and bloody twist on elven folklore.”
HILDUR KNUTSDOTTIR, AUTHOR OF THE NIGHT GUEST
“… not for the faint of heart … grotesque and exciting and keeps the reader engaged, because the plot moves in many unexpected directions and one never knows what evil might lurk behind the next stone.”
SNAEDIS BJORNSDOTTIR, MORGUNBLADID DAILY
“A great mix of classic folklore and contemporary horror. The style is concise and enthralling and the author captures the voices of young people particularly well. Adults can certainly also enjoy the book; I plowed through it!”
SJOFN ASARE, LESTRARKLEFINN
“Fast-paced, thrilling, with well-crafted characters, imaginative and exciting. Very exciting! The best proof of that is that I simply couldn’t stop reading until I had finished it. And I immediately regretted finishing it because I wished it would go on forever. That may be the highest praise of all. And this new kind of elves is an absolutely fantastic addition to the country’s folkloric flora. At times I felt as though I were watching a film or a TV series … something like a blend of Stranger Things and Predator! Which I think is brilliant!”
